Polyurea
What is Polyurea ?
Polyurea is a polymer derived from the chemical reaction of isocyanate and amine resin. It is an excellent materials for lining, coating and sealing.
It has a plastic texture and at the same time great elasticity, very high mechanical strength and can be used in many applications with great success and with much better results than other materials such as polyurethanes, epoxies, vinyl esters and neoprene etc.
When applied correctly polyurea treatment can used for:
1. The protection of concrete and metal surfaces offering complete anti-corrosion protection and tremendous abrasion resistance.
2. The waterproofing of a buildings complete structure from the foundations to the roof with enormous advantages compared to other conventional materials due to its rapid application, its absolute adhesion, the high degree of elasticity and its high strength while being stressed.
3. The coating of water tanks (drinking water, sewage tanks), fuels, chemicals etc., swimming tanks, irrigation channels, biological cleaning etc.
4. The covering of floor areas, industrial premises, parking areas and generally any type of floor that is impacted by heavy use and high stress
5. In ships’ decks and decks where they offer complete and definitive waterproofing
6. On trucks, vehicles, railways, airfields, etc.
7. In general, the uses of polyurea are endless and are constantly expanding 
Method Of Application
- Surfaces must be free of loose materials and moisture
- Is sprayed onto the surface (horizontal, vertical, reverse)
Types of Polyurea
Polyurea, based on its chemical composition, is distinguished as
1. Pure i.e. not mixed with any other substances and
2. Hybrid i.e. is mixed with any other substances.
Pure polyurea has much higher resistance than hybrid polyurea, though hybrids are the most cost-effective solution
